Stream Anywhere can be used to create and edit Microsoft's Windows Media Technologies 4.0 (.ASF) files, which feature multiple bit rate encoding (Intelligent Streaming) and Microsoft's new audio codec (code-named MS Audio). In addition, Stream Anywhere authors RealNetworks' RealSystem G2 files, which also feature multiple bit rate encoding (SureStream). Stream Anywhere provides one-step encoding and supports WAV, AIF and MP3 audio formats and AVI, MOV, and MPG video formats. It can also work with video capture devices.

Features of Stream Anywhere include: a variety of audio and video pre-processing functions, a visual timeline display, support for re-indexing ASF metadata, editing tools, and HTML and SMIL layouts.
