The WDA is split into three sections: the Dictionary, the Table Viewer, and the Read File Viewer and Further Reading section.
In the Dictionary section you can browse all the terms or search for a particular term. The Dictionary definitions include links to associated terms, plus links to more information, such as a table, article, or a selection for further reading.
The Table Viewer features over 20 different tables including: asteroids, comets, constellations, planetary conjunctions, planetary satellites, orbital and physical characteristics of planets, spectral class of bright stars, sunspot group classification, stars of magnitude 2.00 or brighter, and more.
The Read File Viewer lets you read articles covering many areas of astronomical interest including: cosmology, galaxies, stars, planets, comets, asteroids, moon, our solar system, telescopes, eclipses, astronomical history, more. Links to further reading are provided with the inclusion of the astronomy section of the W.H. Smith Bookfinder Database containing over 600 book titles indexed by Author, Title and Subject.
WDA also features fast searching, cross-referencing, the ability to append notes to selected terms and articles, the ability to copy information into your favourite word processor for use in study, the ability to print information, an Observers Log for use in observations, and more.
