A closer look at DeskNite

The view is not static, but revolves with the Earth in real-time reflecting the actual configuration up above. You can select your viewing location from a drop-down list, or enter your latitude and longitude.

Simply right-click on the wallpaper to configure the view as you like. It displays of over 3,000 stars, 9 planets, the sun, moon, and Messier and NGC objects in point source and photoplate display styles, with Stereographic, Equal Area, Equidistant, and Orthographic projection models. It also features flexible Alt/Az viewpoints; Constellation, Horizon, Ecliptic, and Aequator lines; Constellation lines and boundaries; Horizon and Equatorial grids, and more.

DeskNite can communicate with WinGlobe if WinGlobe is installed on your system. DeskNite makes Winglobe's globe rotate to the geographic position from which DeskNite's skies are currently being viewed.
