The program's main purpose is to pre-process e-mail messages that require standard responses. It can also extract and collate data from message bodies, and is ideal for processing messages where the text layout is known (e.g., Web forms). You can specify addresses or domains from which Vamp should accept or reject e-mail, and have Vamp further filter messages based on any field or combination of fields, including headers, X-headers or custom-defined fields. Vamp can write data that it extracts from message bodies to a file, or use that data to compose outgoing messages. Other response options for filtered messages include forwarding, deleting, processing with an external program, or sending a new message (with or without an attachment).

Vamp has backup, restore, and cleanup features.
