In depth
A closer look at Mailcoach
It can receive and deliver mail across a network for users that have standard Internet e-mail software. At specified intervals, Mailcoach uses the Unix-to-Unix Copy Protocol (UUCP) to transfer outgoing mail to and receive incoming mail from an Internet Service Provider (ISP). The advantage to using this method instead of multiple mailbox accounts at your ISP, is that you can have as many mailboxes as you like and you can administer them yourself. It features: global or individual POP3 passwords; an unlimited number of aliases or users; the ability of any mailbox to have "auto reply"; mail forwarding; priority mail; support for "user registration" through E-mail; auto reply can be set up by e-mail, if enabled; the system administrator can always create/delete users and Auto-reply’s through e-mail and it fully complies with RFC 821, 822 and 1725.
