Active@ Hard Disk Monitor is a software application which can be used in order to check the health and temperature of your hard drive, and schedule a scan to determine bad sectors.

The setup process is a piece of cake, as it does not offer to download any third-party products and it does not last longer than a few seconds. After you are done with it, you are brought to a pretty well-organized and clean interface which encompasses a menu bar, several buttons, a folder list of all connected drives and several tabs for a quick access to all available options.
Check the HDD temperature and scan it for errors
This program enables you to view, in real time, the temperature of your hard drive, as well as a graphical representation of it for the current hour, the entire day, or a specific time in the past. In addition to that, it is possible to scan the disk in order to verify it for bad sectors. You can change block size (e.g. 512 bytes, 64 KB, 256 KB), process only particular sectors and choose a schedule on which this operation to take place.
