is a powerful MIDI composition tool for musicians and composers.
The program lets you manipulate multiple expanders and synthesizers, and playfully explore the process of musical composition. Its numerous functions for transforming and manipulating musical events provide an intuitive and rapid way of composing complex works. It has the ability to realize harmonic structures from improvisations, and other unique composition functions.
Quaderno can record up to 16 MIDI instrumental performers in real time. It also lets you generate music via mouse, "Composer" (a tool for modeling all kinds of music, even in quarter tones), and "Formula" (a programming language for describing musical movements). Five hundred scales are included, and you can add your own.
The "Remote Control" window, Quaderno's central interface control, is ergonomically designed to provide efficient access to all the program's functionality. Musicians can use Quaderno on stage to manage impressive musical effect in real time. For example, you can command the playing of 16 instruments simultaneously, with each one generating MIDI effects (such as complex arpeggio and echoes).
Quaderno is compatible with GM and XG formats. It can access high and low banks used by XG. It can also send "sysex." The number of MIDI peripherals (expanders, keyboards, and other instruments) is limited only by your PC configuration. The program works with a wide range of internal cards and external racks. New drivers are recognized automatically.
