is a sophisticated program for music generation and composition.
The program can generate WAV format music using mathematical and linguistic formulas. Over 60 functions are provided. ARMP lets you play and edit WAV files directly, with a potential for up to six simultaneous tracks via DirectX.
ArborRhythms Music Processor also plays, saves, and records MIDI "type 0" and "type 1" files (GM compatible), processing the input from a MIDI keyboard in real time. Multiple MIDI output devices are supported. You can have up to 40 MIDI tracks, each with "name", "volume", "pitch", "instrument", "speed", "channel", "loop", and "loop point" parameters.
The program's graphical user interface can present your data in "binary-branching function tree", "event list", "graphical notation", "musical staff notation", or "wave view" format.
Additional features include: complete editing controls ("cut", "copy", "paste", "delete", and "undo"); standard musical components (tempo, key signature, treble, and bass clefs); musical sets which act as "fuzzy-set" classes; functions for quantizing, randomizing, contracting, and expanding time; and full printing capability.
