is a multimedia program for learning to write and read music, and to play the recorder.
You see the fingering for each note as it is played. There is no need for any previous music experience; you can learn as you go. The view of the animated recorder is the same as your own instrument. Compose a tune in the easy Tune Editor and the computer shows you how to play it. Ask a teacher to write a scale, a trill or a mordent (or any exercise that a teacher can think of), and you can practice it between lessons on your own.
When playing a tune, the speed range is from Adagio to Presto, or you can pause on each note. The sound of the recorder can be changed to over 100 different sounds. It supports tempo markings, note values, beats in a bar, and "counting in".
Recorder Teacher also teaches the art of blowing and tonging by using interactive sound files, and provides help with tuning the recorder. It also features: a comparison of the members of the recorder family (from Bass to Sopranino) and a short history, reversible "finger chart", a tunes library, the ability to save and print graded tests for any number of children, and more. It uses clear speech, animation and beautiful recordings by virtuoso Piers Adams. Recorder Teacher is suitable for use at home or school.
