Overview
features a guitar chord lookup for standard and non-standard tunings.
In depth
The chord library for standard tuning has 23 chord types in each key, and includes 3 to 6 different voices and fingerings per key.
You simply select the key of the chord and its type, preview it, and when you find the correct voicing and fingering, draw it in ChordBook's Diagram Editor function.
When you draw the chord, all possible notes of the chord are also plotted in the Neck View function, which provides additional chord lookup functions, such as browsing through over-the-neck chord fingerings, and using the name-that-chord function which recognizes more than 60 different chord types in any key and in standard and non-standard tunings.
In addition, you can save and print your drawings, and if you cannot find the voicing and fingering that you need, you can experiment and try different settings until you discover the right one.
Verdict
ChordBook runs on Windows 95/98/Me and is available under the Demo license — the installer is 834 KB. We’ve catalogued it under Learning Music.
