A closer look at Vision Sampler

With Vision Sampler, you can mix live any standard WAV files, and keep them synchronized. You do not need a midi keyboard or any other external devices. Just load your favorite sounds into Vision Sampler, match their tempos, and play them together. The program allows you to start, loop, and stop up to four samples, individually or all together; speed up or slow down individual playback tempos (which also affects pitch); and mute/unmute, fade in/out, and pan each sample separately. It can also check and compensate for the latency of your sound card.

Vision Sampler provides no option for saving your mix, but you can route the line-out of your sound card into some other capture device (such as a cassette deck, or the line-in of your sound card), or try an audio capture tool (similar in principle to "screen capture"). A "Pro" version of Vision Sampler is also available that lets you save mix session parameters, mix up to 12 samples at a time, and more.
