This personal finance package does traditional checkbook management, account reconciliation, and historical analysis of where money was spent. It has memorized transactions to quickly enter recurring transactions, and the ability to split a transaction by assigning portions of it to different categories. It makes budgeting easier and more realistic by using the time-honored "envelope budgeting" methodology where, in effect, each category is like an account with a maintained balance. Savings goals and day-to-day expenses are handled in the same manner. Doing automatic transfers into each category, and spending according to its balance, fosters the out-of-sight out-of-mind mentality to help you stick to your financial plan.

MAKE$.CENTS provides custom Registers allowing you to define the transactions belonging to a register. A custom register which includes all checking and credit card transactions, provides a balance which, if kept positive, insures that credit cards can be paid off in full.

Systematically eliminate debt by assigning a certain amount of money each month towards getting out of debt. Specify a category as the getting-out-of-debt category and each month allocate money into that category. As you make a credit card payment towards an account with an outstanding balance, MAKE$.CENTS will remind you of the funds in the getting-out-of-debt category and encourage you to apply it to the current payment. --------------
