Phonetizer is a lightweight software application built specifically for helping you generate the phonetic transcription for English texts. The tool is able to automatically create the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) transcription and add it to any English text.The layout is intuitive enough to be configured without having to consult a help manual or watch online tutorials.The program gives you the possibility to type in the text directly into the primary panel or paste it from other third-party utilities, listen to the audio phonetic pronunciation, and start or stop the audio streams.What’s more, you can view the phonetic transcription in a dedicated panel, check the HTML version of the text, as well as edit the current transcription by inserting preset symbols.Other notable characteristics worth mentioning are represented by the possibility to switch between an American or British pronunciation mode, as well as print or copy the generated transcription to the clipboard for pasting it into other third-party applications.Last but not least, you are allowed to preview the information before printing it, change the text display (bold, italic, or underline) and size, use hotkeys for a better control over the entire process, zoom in or out, and activate the full screen mode. On the downside, you cannot upload the information from a file and export it.During our testing we have noticed that Phonetizer carries out a task quickly and provides very good output results. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not affected.All in all, Phonetizer offers a simple yet efficient software solution when it comes to helping you check the phonetic transcription for English texts.
