In order to use the program, you need to take a picture of or scan your old recipe. The old recipe must be printed not handwritten. Then transfer the image to the computer where SRS Recipe Organizer is installed.You can selecting different parts of the recipe, draw boxes around the image and copy data.  Proofread and correct any mistakes in the text.  Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tries to figure out what the letters are but often it can't so you will have to fix its mistakes.

You can adjust the image size so just the portion you are interested in is in view.  This keeps the image as big as possible and provides the best chance for an accurate character recognition.If there are a lot of ingredients or instructions you can do multiple copies into the same portion of the recipe. If the image is in color you might want to make it black and white using the image tools.
