XDepth Raw Converter is an advanced utility you can use to make image adjustments and convert RAW and HDR photographs to other file types. In addition to RAW images, it supports 48-bit color and HDR images, as well as XDepth-RAW, XDepth-48 and XDepth-HDR pictures.

Setup and interface

The setup procedure doesn't take long and it offers to make file associations with RAW files. Moreover, the program requires .NET Framework and Adobe Reader. Undoing and redoing your actions is possible.The image can be copied or saved to JPG, BMP, TIF, PNG, XDepth-48, XDepth-HDR or HDR format. The software tool can also update old XDepth HDR format saved by the XDepth Photoshop plugin. Lastly, program settings can be saved to file and opened later.

Evaluation and conclusion

It didn't put a strain on the overall performance of the computer in our tests, running on low CPU and RAM. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash. However, it had a slow response time when loading images or applying settings. Other than that, XDepth Raw Converter gets the job done.
