A closer look at Problemist

Problemist can handle most problem types up to six-movers, has an excellent user interface, and is packed with features -- most notably the ability to generate complete and properly annotated solutions that you can save as plain text files. Its only minor weakness is that its analytical engine is a bit slow compared with high-end chess software, but this is only really apparent when solving six-move problems.

Other features include powerful search tools, diagram printing, position export in EBD and PGN formats for use in other chess programs, a visual index tool for problem files (like thumbnails for an image viewer), and very thorough documentation.
