There are six different races (United Federation of Planets, Klingon Empire, Romulan Star Empire, Lyran Empire, Hydran Kingdom and the Gorn), which have different ships, different weapons, and even special unique missions.
Starfleet Command is based on the popular Starfleet Battles (SFB) board game.
