is similar to the classic arcade game "Pitfall", and lets you control a salamander who explores a dense jungle.
While navigating the jungle you try to collect treasures such as gold bars, money sacks, and ammo. But you must also avoid various dangers including snakes, fires, quicksand, crocodile-infested lakes, and more. You can travel above or below ground, in any direction you want.
You must also watch out for enemy salamanders which try to stop you. You have a gun that shoots canisters of knock-out gas. However, your ammo is very limited.
You are given three lives, and every time you touch something dangerous you lose a life. When you run out of lives and hit something dangerous, the game is over.
As you play you score points for doing various things. For example, you score 10 points for each screen of the jungle you successfully pass through. If you get enough points you can put your name in the high scores chart.
You can load one of the five pre-made maps to play, or can you play an infinite variety of random maps. You can also create your own maps with the map editor.
Salameanderer features colorful graphics and sound effects.
