DVD Burning Xpress is a resourceful software application developed for creating full-featured DVD movies from video clips of various formats. It supports plenty of file types, such as AVI, MOV, VOB, ASF, WMV and MPG.The program's interface has a well-organized layout where users can easily figure out how to work with DVD Burning Xpress.Adding video clips from the disk to the file list is done by using the file browser only, since the "drag and drop" function is not supported. It is also possible to capture video directly from a DV camcorder device.The video list shows important information for each item, namely the duration, resolution, default trimmed length and transition, along with its file path.Video trimming is accurately performed by viewing a clip in a built-in media player; you can navigate back and forth within the video and mark the start and end position by pressing two buttons.When it comes to transitions, DVD Burning Xpress provides a long list of options (e.g. alpha blend, horizontal, vertical). Aside from previewing a transition effect and setting its duration, you can adjust the volume level and enable a fade in/out effect.An important part of any DVD movie is represented by its menu. With the help of this program, you can edit the menu item title (e.g. font, shadow, color), theme (e.g. visible elements, navigation controls), background music (MP3, WMA and WAV formats) and image (JPG and BMP formats).Once the project is done you can save it to file to further modifications, preview it or start a DVD burning session; configuration settings revolve around the CD/DVD recorder, output format (DVD or SVCD), disc image file creation (ISO format), disc label and TV system (NTSC or PAL).DVD Burning Xpress requires a moderate quantity of CPU and system memory, has a fair response time (it may take a while to load some options) and includes user documentation. We haven't experienced any difficulties throughout our testing, since the program was stable. On the downside, the application has not been updated for a long time.All in all, DVD Burning Xpress provides users with an intuitive environment yet rich features for creating DVD movies, so it should please the entire audience.
