Space Searcher is an intuitive piece of software that comes equipped with user-friendly features to analyze disk space and identify the largest files, so that you can get a better idea of the programs or personal files that take up most space.This way, you can reorganize data on the HDD or put together a filelist to prepare for a Windows reinstallation, for instance.

Hassle-free installation and user-friendly GUI

After a speedy setup procedure that shouldn't give you any trouble, you are welcomed by a large window with a clean and intuitive structure, where you can use a built-in file explorer to select the drives or directories you want to scan.

Scan and analyze files

Once the analysis task is carried out, Space Searcher shows a pie chart with the largest files, and lists directories by size in descending order. You can check out the top level files and folders, total and temporary file size, drive size and free space, along with the file system type and cluster size.

Sort files and export details

Files can be sorted by name or size in ascending order, while data can be filtered by folders, file extensions or groups. What's more, you can refresh and print information, as well as export it to Excel or HTML format.Space Searcher also features a cleanup feature for Windows temporary files, Internet Explorer cache, Recycle Bin contents, and recent documents history. As far as app options are concerned, you can change the color scheme or manage file groups by filtering extensions.

Evaluation and conclusion

The software tool didn't hog system resources in our tests and finished analysis jobs swiftly. On the other hand, it prompted several error dialogs out of the blue while we were tinkering with its settings. We must also take into account the fact that it hasn't been updated for a while.
