Overview

What is PEPI?

is a set of 43 statistical programs designed primarily for epidemiologists.

In depth

A closer look at PEPI

PEPI is primarily for use in the planning or analysis of epidemiologic studies, but most of the programs can be used in other contexts also. Many of the programs may be useful for learning or teaching purposes. The programs are interactive, offering a variety of options.

The programs include: case-control and cohort studies; trials; matched observations; stratified data; meta-analysis; evaluation of screening and diagnostic tests; multiple logistic and poisson regression; probability and inverse probability values; sample size; power; random sampling and a randomization calculator.

Most of the programs facilitate secondary calculations after observations have been tabulated or counted, and require keyboard entry of data; however some can read data files.

The results are shown on the screen, and can also be printed or saved as text in a disk file.
