After quickly gathering data, it reveals your local IP address and host name, public IC address and Internet host name, along with proxy settings and the connection type (e.g. LAN, wireless).Any of these details can be refreshed if changes were made to your Internet connection in the meantime. In order to ping another host, all you have to do is specify the IP address or URL. There are no other notable settings provided by this utility.No setup required, besides .NET Framework
The entire program's packed in a single .exe file that can be saved to a custom directory on the disk or copied to a removable storage unit, in order to directly launch MyIP on any PC. However, the app's not truly portable, since it's not standalone.It needs you to install .NET Framework if you don't have it already. Other than that, it doesn't update your system registry with new entries or create files on the disk without permission.Evaluation and conclusion
Network scans were rapidly carried out in our tests, during which the tool remained light on system resources consumption, thanks to the fact that it used a low amount of CPU and RAM to work properly. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash.On the other hand, it failed to collect all data in our tests and we were forced to restart the application in order to rescan the network. We are also keeping in mind that MyIP hasn't received updates for a long time.Conclusion
