In depth

A closer look at ScreenWhite

Chances are you’re not pretty comfortable with the color calibration of you display, and find default methods of color adjustment difficult to use. This can be the case with both damaged and regular displays. Luckily, there are various specialized applications like ScreenWhite which allow you to adjust color according to your will.

Real-time preview of changes

Setup is over before you realize, giving you a chance to get familiar with the set of features in a jiffy, without having to go through a system restart. A rather simplistic window shows up on launch, with an additional description panel to help you get the hang of things. There’s also a white screen mode to get a better view over the new settings. You’re put up against a couple of sliders, one to adjust warmness, while the other is used to set color balance. Colored delimiters make it easy to understand how colors shift while adjusting corresponding sliders, and preview is also generated in real-time.

Create multiple profile configurations

The status bar displays the corresponding levels for red, green, and blue, which update as you adjust the sliders. The application quietly sits in the tray area when not directly used, just in case you want to create or change set of values to make work with other windows more comfortable. On the bright side of things, there’s the possibility to have multiple configurations saved, and applied at the press of a button. More than that, each configuration can be fitted with a custom hotkey command for even more comfort. If you consider you messed up colors too much, you can always return to default screen configuration.

On an ending note

Taking everything into consideration, we can state that ScreenWhite is a practical little tool to have at hand, especially when you’re having trouble with color settings of your display. Multiple profiles can be created, which are triggered by hotkey commands, making it worth your while overall.
