Media Organizer : Set up a private database to store general information about novels, pieces of software, games, music and movies, as well as handle the people that loaned items from you
Media Organizer is an intuitive piece of software designed to help you add and keep track of movies, books, software, music and images, and manage the people to whom you loan various items.
Add information about novels, games and utilities
It's advisable to start the application with administrative rights to avoid popup errors. The provided interface is old yet accessible, divided into a records list and the fields associated with each function.
Configure your database
When you run the app for the first time, a wizard is brought up that guides you through a few steps in order to set up your database. The toolbar comes packed with a unique icon for each record type, such as books, games, music, pictures or software.
Store favorite books and games
For books, you can fill in the title, ISBN, category (which can be customized), catalog, rating, media type, author, publisher, webpage and a short description. The navigational arrows are offered to help you browse through the items with ease. Games share similar fields as books while adding the game company and system.
Manage movies and memory cards
The tool lets you store your favorite movies by entering several details, like title, production company, writer, and the cast and crew. From the menu, you can also keep track of multiple memory cards by specifying the game name, system, location and space used.
Poorly-developed description fields
Sadly, Media Organizer provides almost the same fields for all the records, making it hard to fully customize an item. For example, the music section could've come with elements like track duration, size, genre, composer or published year.
Handle information about loaners
If you loaned a valuable book, CD or game to someone, you have the option to store the person's and item's information. Last but not least, the database can be backed up in case you encountered issues with your computer and then restored.
Decent media manager
The bottom line is that Media Organizer is a user-friendly piece of software that comes in handy for everyone who needs a simple tool to store books, CDs, tracks, games or apps.
