Written in Python, pAgenda is a free software tool that facilitates an appointment calendar, giving you the possibility to easily add important events, as well as to create to-do and contact lists.

Rudimentary, yet user-friendly GUI

The interface is user-friendly but looks a bit rudimentary. Before gaining access to it, you must enter a user name to add it to the list, since the program is equipped to handle multiple calendars with different scheduled tasks using a self-contained SQLite database.You can navigate dates in the calendar and view an analog clock, add appointments by entering the time and description, as well as create to-do lists by writing simple notes. The two types of entries can be told apart easily: two asterisks are listed next to the to-do task, while the event time is displayed above the appointment.

Create appointments, to-do lists, and contacts

It's also possible to create contacts by entering the first and last name, physical and email address, phone number, and description. Contacts and appointments can be exported to file and later imported (along with Outlook CSV data).Plus, you can delete old entries, make Sunday or Monday the first day in the calendar, enable alerts, toggle contacts and to-do list view mode, as well as ask pAgenda to automatically run at every Windows startup until further notice. It automatically creates a log file on exit.

Evaluation and conclusion

It contains useful and approachable options for managing a calendar with appointments, to-do lists and contacts. It was light on system resources consumption in our tests, and didn't hang, crash or prompt error messages.On the other hand, due to the interface, pAgenda looks like an unfinished project. We are also taking into account that it hasn't been updated for a pretty long time.
