Theme Viewer is a compact application that intends to help you choose a theme for your Symbian phone by displaying a brief preview. The main purpose of the application is to avoid installing a lot of themes on your phone by checking the colors and the background image.Since most of the themes are available on the Internet and from unknown publishers it is better to limit the number of files that you install on your phone. After all, some of them do not have the right colors in order to provide a good visibility for your phone menus.The program allows you to preview the themes that are designed for devices that run with Symbian 2nd Edition. In order to view the theme preview you need to open a SIS file that includes all the images and the settings. The main window can display a preview of the stand-by image and the background for the menus.You can save the preview or the background of the operator logo if you want to quickly compare with other themes. These images can be saved as BMP, GIF, JPG or PNG files if you need a specific file format.During our tests not all Symbian themes were correctly displayed as it can open only the ones designed for the 2nd Edition. If you try to open a different theme the application will either freeze or not display the background image correctly.When you preview the theme, the screen text is displayed with white text and you cannot change this setting. This can lead you to a wrong theme choice as many phones have the option to change the color of the text or have black as the default color.Theme Viewer has an easy to use interface and is light on resources. The processor load increases briefly when you open the SIS file but without any impact on the computer performance.Overall, it can be a useful application that you can use in order to test-drive a theme before installing it to your phone.
