VX

VX is a reliable application that can be used as a text editor, as well as the means to provide an integrated development environment for the TeX programming language. The application facilitates the editing process, by allowing you to use keystroke macros or calltips to reduce the duration of the editing process.

Visual editor and previewer

VX allows you to visualize the process of the code editing and compiling, thanks to the specific tools: syntax highlighter, folding, spell check. Given the nature of the TeX programming language, previewing the result in the designated console is not permitted. The program features several compiling modes, optimized for each type of file you open and allows you to select either of them.As such, VX is not the ‘what you see is what you get’ type of application since it does not allow you to preview the output file, in real time. However, it is fast in performing its tasks, using only Windows APIs and allows you to quickly compile, plus save your work.

The usage of macros and other functions

VX allows you to use keystroke macros and calltips, designed to simplify the editing process. You may easily record macros, load already existing ones and control the usage by starting or stopping them at any time.The program supports opening scripts from various types of files, such as specific TeX documents, Sty files, BIB, metapost or postscript files. There are several compiling algorithms, designed for each of the supported file types that you can select before starting the process.

Reliable text editor

VX offers you several text editing functions, which facilitate code writing. Thus, you can use the advanced selection tools, the line manager, words deletion, text block editor or the folding function. The program allows you to set several markers, similar to bookmarks, change the text encoding or enable the auto-completion.
