Overview

What is Memory Hog?

Memory Hog : Make sure that the browser sessions do not hog all your memory resources and prevent crashes using this simple and straightforward tool

In depth

A closer look at Memory Hog

From opening tabs to watch videos or using extensions that seamlessly integrate with the rest of your machine and other installed apps,  web browsing is becoming more sophisticated than people give it credit for.Memory Hog is a lightweight piece of software designed to help you keep a close eye over the memory usage of your browsers and make sure they do not exceed an assigned threshold.

Uneventful setup and minimalistic interface

The application does not require installation per se, but rather you can decompress the archive in any desired location on your local drives. Moreover, you do not need to configure the tool in any way, as it automatically displays the running processes associated with the browsers you have installed. The program comes with a simplistic, yet easy to navigate interface that is unlikely to give you any troubles. As you probably already guessed, the UI displays the top processes that are prone to memory hog and you can just close them by double-clicking on them.

Allows you to specify the number of processes and threshold

It is worth mentioning that the application allows you to specify the number of processes that you want to preview when monitoring RAM usage on your machine. At the same time, you can add the maximum threshold that these applications can use, an option that can come in handy if you have limited resources. While you can move the tool freely with your mouse in any location of your desktop, the program can be relocated to the upper or lower corners using the Home, End, Page Up and Page Down keys. In case you need it to monitor processes permanently, then you can right-click on the icon and mark the Always Show feature.

A useful app for debugging browsers who eat too many resources

In the eventuality that Chrome or Firefox use so much RAM that it has a negative impact on the overall performance of your computer, then perhaps Memory Hog could come in handy.
