A closer look at Cognitel

The program overcomes limitations of "Caller ID" by resorting to spoken name recognition. You can have Cognitel react to specific callers with custom greetings/messages, call transfers, or paging notifications. Integration with Microsoft Exchange/Outlook is included for unified messaging. Cognitel creates a record of all calls, and lists callers by name. It even allows voice-activated remote access so you can check messages.

Cognitel works in real-time with up to 50 callers entered on your "Caller List." With more than 50 callers there may be a delay of several seconds between the time a caller says their name and the instant at which Cognitel establishes their identity.

Recognition ability becomes increasingly robust as the program receives additional samples of caller names, spoken by the callers themselves. As long as you follow proper training and correction procedures, recognition accuracy should climb sharply after the initial calls to 95-percent or better for callers who have called at least three times.
