Anagram Artist is a lightweight Windows application whose purpose is to help you create anagrams. It comes in handy especially if you play Scribble or other types of games.

User interface

The GUI is not particularly intuitive so you need to experiment a little bit with the built-in features in order to get an idea about how it works. A help manual is included in the package in case you need extra assistance with the configuration process.

Create anagrams

The best part about this program is that it automatically reveals a list with possible word combinations as soon as you start typing the target word. Plus, it organizes the words by the number of characters comprised in a word and reveals a visual display of the used/unused letters.Anagram Artist is able to decode anagrammed poetry and gives you the possibility to import data from plain text file format, as well as apply all sorts of filters when creating anagrams, such as prefix or suffix, certain set of letters, synonyms of a given word, parts of speech (e.g. noun, verb, adjective), certain number of syllables and stress pattern, and low or high vowel percentage.What’s more, you can make the application avoid letters from a custom list and copy data to the clipboard so you can quickly import it into other third-party programs.Tests have shown that Anagram Artist carries out a task very quickly and without errors. It does not eat up a lot of CPU and memory resources so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered.

Configuration settings

Several configuration parameters hidden under the hood help you specify the minimum word length and maximum number of words, allow repeated words, make use of a preset dictionary or upload a custom one, and choose between American or British spelling.

Bottom line

All in all, Anagram Artist comes packed with many advanced and useful options but the GUI needs a facelift to make the entire process more intuitive.
