Kate's Video Joiner : Joins multiple videos of same or different format and save it as single video
Kate's Video Joiner is a software which allows you to merge multiple video files and save them in a different format. It supports AVIs, WMAs, MOVs, DVDs, MPEGs, and more.
User-friendly interface
The program comes with a user-friendly interface. You can import videos into the list by using the file browser (the "drag and drop" function is not supported). So, all you have to do is select the output format, name and destination, and initiate the merging/conversion process. But you can also specify the default output directory and Kate's Video Joiner to open it after the task has been completed, as well as load the preview in an external media player.
Configure various compression parameters
Furthermore, you can configure settings when it comes to the audio and video compressors, output resize (optionally add a letterbox to keep aspect ratio), video bitrate and frame rate, audio bitrate, channels and sample frequency rate, and others. Don't worry, you can reset settings to default at any time. The program takes up a low-to-moderate amount of system resources and worked smoothly during our tests. However, a task can take a very long time to complete (even in the case of short videos) and Kate's Video Joiner was unable to merge a WMV and MOV file (at least in our case). The program didn't warn us about anything in this matter, but the output video contained only the WMV file.
Bottom line
All in all, Kate's Video Joiner is a simple-to-use application for merging and converting video files. But it is pretty unstable at this point, so we can only recommend you look for something else. On the other hand, you can test Kate's Video Joiner for yourself.
