Sundi is a lightweight Windows application whose purpose is to help you create sundials and perform calculations related to time and analemma.

Prior configuration settings

You are welcomed by a clean layout that gives you the possibility to open an existing design or create a new one.A new sundial can be defined by selecting the country and location from drop-down lists. In addition, you can check out the exact coordinates (latitude and longitude) and time zone of the current location. In case the preferred location is not on the list, you can manually set up a new one.

Create all sorts of sundials

Sundi helps you create different types of sundials, namely horizontal and vertical.The built-in designer allows you to customize the sundials in detail.You can configure parameters related to dimensions, such as width, height, offset, style, frame width, colors, and fonts. In addition, you can show or hide sun declination, equinox, compass, location, title, and equinox.You can set up a background image, apply live shadow, animate the shadow, print or copy the sundial to the clipboard, as well as export the design to BMP, JPG, GIF, EMF, TIFF, or PDF file format.

Extra tools to play with

Sundi is able to generate graphs displaying equation of time or analemma data for a certain epoch and month. The graphs can be printed, exported to the clipboard or saved to an image (e.g. GIF, EMF) or PDF file format.A small calculator allows you to perform basic mathematical operations, such as addition, subtraction and multiplication.

Bottom line

All in all, Sundi gathers a useful set of features for designing sundials. On the downside, the GUI is not highly intuitive so you need to invest extra time in configuring the dedicated parameters.
