Timewise Desktop : Have a different wallpaper applied according to the time of day, with up to 10 different items to display, and options to create custom themes
There’s a pretty high chance you get bored seeing the same wallpaper over and over again. This doesn’t really have to be a struggle, because Windows already comes with customization options in this regard. However, you can also rely on third-party alternatives like Timewise Desktop, which can be fitted with customization themes.
Quietly sits in the tray area once configured
Setup takes little while, and you’re offered to have the application launched right afterwards. Don’t worry, the wallpaper doesn’t change just yet, so you have a chance to see what’s going on first. It usually sits in the tray area, so it’s the place to look first in case the main window doesn’t show up on launch. The main window is pretty straightforward. It shows a preview of the currently selected theme, a drop-down menu to scroll through existing ones, as well as the necessary functions to create a new item on the list. Additionally, you can choose to have the program launched on startup, so that it’s ready by the time you reach the desktop.
Create your own themes
The way the application works is by placing a new wallpaper on your desktop at a specific time of day. There’s a large list of items to go through, and time values can be changed at any moment, but apply for all themes. As such, you go through three stages of each day section, as well as sunset and night, counting up to 10 different values.Creating a new theme doesn’t require a lot of effort. You simply need to fill up all fields with pictures for each section of the day. However, you can only choose from JPG pictures. A name also needs to be provided for your theme.
A few last words
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that Timewise Desktop comes with a decent set of options which can make wallpaper rotation a little different than what Windows has to offer. Although you can only use JPG pictures, it provides a neat way of having different wallpapers throughout the day.
