DiskInternals NTFS Reader : Simple tool that reads NTFS disk drives, creates image with selected content or by erasing disk contents, shows NTFS properties, and more
DiskInternals NTFS Reader is a Windows utility capable of displaying the contents of NTFS volumes. It comes bundled with a short list of options and configuration settings, but it's practical for users interested in performing quick operations that involve NTFS disk drives. The application can be quickly and easily installed, thanks to the fact that there are no special options involved in the setup stage. As far as the graphical interface is concerned, DiskInternals NTFS Reader has a window similar to Windows Explorer, where you can explore NTFS hard disk and physical drives and perform operations.
Read NTFS hard disk drives and perform various operations
It's possible to open and reopen partitions, create and mount images, refresh the list of drives if any changes were made in the mean time, as well as view drive properties. To create a new image, you have to pick the saving directory, file name, and disk image format between .dsk and .img. Next, you can specify the area to include in the image, such as the first 512 bytes of the boot sector or a selected region. Otherwise, the whole disk contents can be erased.
Use keyboard shortcuts and customize preferences
Keyboard shortcuts are supported for all these commands. You can customize the viewing mode, choose which columns of drive properties you want to be displayed in the main app window, hide NTFS system files and unknown items, show the metadata storage, and more.Unfortunately, the software application hasn't received updates for a pretty long time, and it doesn't seem to be in development anymore. Nevertheless, it worked smoothly on Windows 10 in our tests. We haven't experienced any compatibility issues throughout DiskInternals NTFS Reader's runtime, and it had minimal impact on the overall performance of the computer. Besides, it's free to use and has intuitive options.
