is a slide show screen saver and wallpaper utility, that also lets you create and distribute your own screen savers.
The screen saver includes options that let you choose the time delay between images, select which transition effects to use (36 are included), shrink or enlarge the images to fit the screen, display the images sequentially or randomly, show captions, and more.
You can also choose a single WAV file to be played as background music for your screen saver. When sound is enabled, Image Carousel will loop the sound continuously while the screen saver is running. In addition, each image can have a sound effect associated with it which will play simultaneously with the background music.
The wallpaper changer includes options that let you tile the images, shrink or enlarge the images to fit the screen, display the images sequentially or randomly, show the captions, and more. You can configure the program to change the wallpaper at a specified time interval (e.g. each hour, day, week), or each time you reboot.
Image Carousel also includes a wizard to easily create your own stand-alone, distributable screen savers, complete with install and uninstall support. With the click of a button, you can e-mail your screen saver to your friends and family as a stand-alone SCR module or as a self-installing EXE file.
Image Carousel offers fast, high-quality color reduction. It supports all color modes with advanced palette optimization and color reduction techniques so your images will always look their best, whether they are 256-color or 16-million color.
Image Carousel supports the JPEG format to provide the highest compression levels available. The Windows bitmap (BMP) format is also supported. You can convert between formats and resolutions.
