It deletes the system files linked to the applications sent to the recycle bin. Drag and drop any program on the icon you can see in appdelete to the left. It is going to work automatically. In order to view files that appdelete was able to find and delete click on the log button. The registrar contains the deleted files and their location. Apptrap and appzapper are two other tools that perform the same actions. The first one is free and automatically carries out the removal(the program doesn't have to be opened). Two appzapper is a shareware version and is limited to five uses. Note for mac os x 10. 3 or higher.
