SeisMac turns your Sudden Motion Sensor-equipped laptop into a three-axis seismograph. It shows a scrolling chart of the three axes of acceleration, reading two hundred samples per second. The resizable, real-time scrolling display shows an enormous amount of acceleration information. Place your laptop on a table, and see the seismic waves from tapping your toe on the floor. Lay your laptop on your chest and see your heartbeat. And, of course, if there is a real earthquake, SeisMac will be displaying full seismic information while you drop, cover and hold-on.
SeisMac 3.0
If you have a macbook or macbook pro seismac is an application that takes advantage of the motion sensors in these laptops and converts them into a real seismograph. Ppthe movement detected by the computer is represented by three graphs that correspond to different spatial coordinates horizontal displacement x axis vertical displacement y axi. In order to test the functionality of this program it is not necessary to have an earthquake. Simply move it near a loud speaker or hit or shake the table and watch the graphics evolve.
seismac lets you review the complete history of the session to see if there was an incident, and if so, find out when it happened. The frequency of updating and the magnitude of the values represented by the application can also be selected.
