The program features two male and two female voices that speak as slow or as fast, and as high or as low as you wish. ReadPlease 2000 has some facility with stressing the right words to bring out a text's meaning (inflectional and tonal qualities). It also properly vocalizes dates and dollar amounts, and knows when to make certain substitutions, such as "happy face" for ":)" and "Minnesota" for "MN."
Benefits of using ReadPlease 2000 can include: freeing up your eyes and hands to perform other tasks simultaneously; reducing eye, back and neck strain from reading lengthy text on your computer screen; and eliminating the need to print pages to read.
It runs as a convenient icon in the System Tray area of the Windows taskbar.
