What is AntiLoveLetter?

consists of two Visual Basic (VB) scripts which can check and remove the "I LOVE YOU" virus from your PC.

A closer look at AntiLoveLetter

The "CheckRegistry.vbs" file cleans up your Windows registry, and the "CheckScripts.vbs" file checks all VBE and VBS scripts present on the computer, as well as other files which can be created by the virus ("Script.ini" and "LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.HTM").

These VB scripts are based on the original "I LOVE YOU" virus, using the same language VBScript, so they can be easily updated if someone changes the way the virus functions.

The "CheckScripts.vbs" file not only searches scripts of a particular size, but also looks for critical parts in the text of the scripts which may be present on your computer, so that even modified virus scripts may be recognized.

The "CheckRegistry.vbs" especially removes modifications from the Windows registry which enable the computer to run the virus. It also removes all the contact addresses inserted by the virus into the contact list used in Microsoft Exchange and Outlook.
