A closer look at PortMarshaller
PortMarshaller is a lightweight utility designed to forward ports via TCP and IP connection as well as to monitor the network. It gives you the possibility to manage access control lists, view connection logs and session statistics, among others. Following a speedy setup operation that shouldn't give you any trouble, the service gets started automatically but you can access Configurator.exe to stop the service and modify connection settings, if necessary. This focuses on the access mode (enabled, locked, disabled), whether or not to use IIS (Internet Information Services), user name, password, local address and port. Changes are committed by clicking "Update" and the service can be restarted right away. To reach the main control panel of PortMarshaller, you can either open a web browser and type the local address and port used in the Configurator, or just click the link available in this window. You can view the PortMarshaller administrator settings, including the name, local address, buffer size, status, startup type and properties, together with the remote host address and service of each connection made to your network.
