The program lets you capture video from a DVD, laser disc, television, VCR, video camera, or Web camera. Packaged templates make it easy to configure your hardware for video input, and most digital cameras and capture devices are supported.
It includes MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 support, with the ability to capture, edit, and create low-bandwidth, broadcast-quality MPEG files.
You can trim, split, extract jump cuts, and remove the audio to create a WAV file; use the "Dark Room" tools to adjust color, contrast, and brightness; and create black-and-white, sepia, and selenium video using filters.
MGI VideoWave III enables you to control your camera from within the software; add analog or digital video (DV), Internet and audio files, as well as still images to your video; include special effects, such as swirl, ripple, and fade; and choose from over 50 transitions, and numerous animations, photos, titles, and text effects.
The program also includes a "StoryLine" function to help you arrange your scenes and add graphics, transitions, photos, and edited video clips; a "Chroma Key" feature to let you remove colors from a scene and then blend it with another scene; and real-time previewing.
MGI VideoWave III supports the AVI, BMP, DAT, EPS, FPS, JPG, MAC, MOV, MPG, MSP, PCD, PCT, PCX, PNG, PSD, TGA, TIF, and WMF file formats.
