EMU386 is a CPU emulator that adds real-mode 386 capabilities to a 286 PC. By loading it with the config.sys at the boot, it will make your 286 behave like a 386.
EMU386 will allows 286 users to run many MS-DOS programs that were written for a 386. It also allows gives your 286 plug-and-play capabilities by letting you install many device drivers that were written for a 386. Programs that highly optimized for 386 will experience noticeable slowdown, that's because EMU386 mimic each 386 opcodes using multiple 286 opcodes.
