In depth
To optimize memory, the program releases allocated memory that has been fragmented and left behind by closed applications. It optimizes your swapfile (virtual memory) for faster access. Optimizing your file and disk cache helps you balance the amount of RAM Windows uses for cache with the amount available for running programs. This can alleviate some of the system's dependence on slower swapfile access and thereby improve the performance of memory intensive programs. As a performance booster, WinRamTurbo watches how much RAM is currently available and automatically forces Windows to free up an amount you specify whenever it falls below a certain threshold. This reduces the risk of General Protection Fault (GPF) or Page Fault errors.
The program includes various additional features, such as the ability to display system "uptime" in the titlebar, show the percentage of free resources (GDI, system, and user memory allocation), automatically start with Windows, reside in the System Tray area of the Windows taskbar, and open with a hotkey.
The Pro version comes with the same features as the Lite version. In addition, it has a more appealing user interface and additional features for Window NT users. It also comes with a built-in memory tunner to help get first time users up to speed.
