Universal Payment Software performs all the credit transactions including authorization, draft capture, end-of-day settlement, and historical transaction reporting. When activated from the on-line mode, Universal Payment Software dials the transaction processor, seeks authorization, and stores captured data until the settlement batch is ready to be transmitted. It automatically sends all captured data to the processor for settlement and returns a batch identifier for audit purposes. Universal Payment Software also supports a wide variety of report types.

Universal Payment Software is certified with all major credit card networks and enables any software application to access the credit card authorization and draft capture services provided by major credit transaction processors. Using the standard interface, any of the certified credit transaction processors can be used without changing the application program. This enables application developers to interface Universal Payment Software files to their programs without having to re-certify the application for each transaction processor. Universal Payment Software can support up to 64 POS units or network accounting stations using any of the popular network products such as Novell, Lantastic, and more.

Copies of Universal Payment Software can be loaded onto other workstations to reduce authorization traffic in busy retail environments. It supports both retail and restaurant systems and address verification systems (AVS) for mail order. Universal Payment Software enables credit information to be captured off-line and authorized and settled at a later time. This feature is designed for mail order system users or other applications that do not require real-time bankcard authorization.
