A closer look at T-Rex

T-Rex is intended for programmers who need to parse text files. You specify the patterns using the same regular expression syntax that the Delphi IDE uses. The parser produces no output, but when it finds one of the patterns in the text stream, it triggers a Delphi event called "On Match".

The OnMatch event handler, gives all the information you need about what caused the event including: which pattern was matched; what string caused the match; where it is in the input line; and what line of text it is in.
