Overview

What is Datatect?

generates a variety of realistic custom test data.

In depth

A closer look at Datatect

Datatect can read in existing database table structures for Oracle, Sysbase, Informix, Microsoft Access, or any database that supports Open DataBase Connectivity (ODBC). Using these structures as a model, Datatect lets you create valid test data in any form, field content and volume. Datatect can generate native database tables, both relational and non-relational, which can be written directly to your database. Optionally, it can create ASCII flat files with fixed and variable length fields and records using any delimiter desired.

Datatect supports a wide array of field values including constants, computer numeric and alpha-numeric fields, and values from external files. Numerous data filter types are available and referential integrity is maintained so that your generated test data conforms to common sense business rules: names that agree with genders, and consistent city, state, zip-code and phone number values.
