A closer look at NASM

NASM supports a range of object file formats including Linux a.out ELF, COFF, Microsoft 16-bit OBJ, Borland OBJ, LCC and Win32.  NASM will also output plain binary files. 

Its syntax is designed to be simple and easy to understand.  It supports Pentium, P6 and MMX opcodes (including AMD 3D-Now), and has macro capabilities. 

It includes a disassembler as well as ANSI C source code.
