is a more powerful version of the HyperTerminal dialing and telnet package that comes with Windows.
This version adds automatic re-dial of busy phone numbers; ZModem crash recovery for resuming interrupted file transfers; VT220 and VT320 support; and better support for foreign characters. It also includes a Telnet client that has file transfer capabilities, a scrollback buffer, key macros, and pass-through printing.
This release fixes a security hole found in all versions shipped with Windows, as well as previous versions of HyperTerminal Private Edition. A buffer overrun condition occurs if users access telnet sites with addresses longer than 153 characters. Addresses exceeding this length may harbor malicious code that could run on users' computers.
The Telnet client can be used as the default Telnet application for Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
