A closer look at Desktop News
The news, articles and information can be delivered by sites that use the Microsoft CDF (Channel Definition Format) or Netscape's Netcaster format. Scrolling headlines and multimedia links update quietly in the background. A click on a scrolling headline in the ticker window launches associated content from the publishing source in your default browser. It can accommodate an unlimited number of subscribers, content providers and channels. A channel directory and a headline manager are included.
