A closer look at NewsGrabber

Without using a NewsReader, NewsGrabber can automatically retrieve and decode sounds, pictures and movies. They can be automatically decoded and stored without any manual intervention. NewsGrabber supports MIME and multi-part file attachments and has anti-spam and duplicate detection features.

You can set search criteria and filters which direct NewsGrabber to retrieve and prioritize the articles to download. The program can be scheduled to run unattended.

NewsGrabber comes with an image and text browser which can be used both to view downloaded images, and to easily add filter criteria to exclude spammers.

NewsGrabber was formerly called Grabber.
